Get well soon Ryan…

Before I write about Spurs Vs Wycombe, I would like to wish Ryan Mason, our midfielder , a speedy recovery. He is our player and  he will always be special. Get well soon Ryan !!!

Saturday’s FA cup against Wycombe. Spurs won 4-3.

As the famous adage says, The difference between a master and a beginner is that the master has failed more times than the begineer has ever tried. As in life we don’t deal in certainty, but in probablities. Whoever is your opponent, all you can do is to try, and try harder for a win. You don’t respond based on your opponent, but according to situtation. I understand, Pochettino understood it in the first half. Situations forced him to get Deli Alli and Dembele replacing the younger and tender minds. Results were obvious. We won in the 95th minute, with a goal from Son.

Spurs manager made 9 changes to the side that fough back to draw at man city. I liked the way Wycombe players performed. It was amazing to see,  how they pushed, pressed and exploited spurs defence. As Pochettino rightly said, ‘ It is completely different to Spain and France. It is completely different to when you play Premier League or EFL cup.

On the other side, there is a argument, “that Spurs didn’t play their best 11. It is not fair to FA cup tournaments ” . I disagree to this comment. Its is not about who plays, it is about ‘how’ the team played. And, it is upto the manager of the team to chose the right players for the game as per the conditions and circumstances. A manager needs to have atleast this freedom.

Key stats :

a) Cameron Carter-Vickers completed 92% of his 74 passes vs Wycombe yesterday, the highest of any outfield player completing 90 mins

b) Dele Alli has scored more Premier League goals (21) than Mesut Özil (20) despite making 48 fewer appearances.

c) Son has totally scored 9 crucial goals  and on a ride.
